How do I make a transfer?

To transfer a balance follow these 3 simple steps:

  1. Once your card is activated. Call us now on *0333 220 2668 to carry out your introductory balance transfer
  2. Tell us the 16 digit number and the expiry of the card/s you wish to transfer a balance from
  3. Tell us how much you want to transfer and we will do the rest
  4. Any balance transfers that you would like to undertake outside the introductory offer period, please refer to your app for more details.

How much can I transfer?

  1. You can transfer more than one balance but only up to 90% of your available credit limit. All balance transfers and transfer fees must be within the 90% available credit limit. If the amount you want to transfer exceeds the limit, we may allow you to transfer part of the balance.
  2. The minimum balance transfer amount is £50.

Who can I transfer a balance from?

  1. You can transfer balances from the majority of UK credit cards.
  2. You cannot transfer balances from store cards or any other card provided by NewDay, or American Express, Pre Paid, Cashplus or Business credit cards.
  3. You will need to be the primary cardholder to transfer a balance.

What else do I need to know?

  1. The offer period starts from account opening, if you apply later in the offer period you will only benefit from a reduced offer period (for example, 9 month balance transfer offer, a customer applies to carry out a balance transfer 1 month from account opening, they will then only benefit from 8 months of the promotional offer).
  2. If a transfer is made outside of the first 60 days from account opening, you will not be eligible to take advantage of the introductory balance transfer rate offer, and a standard rate will apply
  3. A fee of 3% of the amount of your balance transfer applies to each transfer. Once we have started to process your balance transfer, the fee cannot be refunded. The fee(s) will be shown on your monthly statement following the transfer. The minimum fee applicable is £3.
  4. All balance transfers are subject to our approval. To remain eligible for this offer before taking it up, please keep to the terms and conditions of your credit card agreement.
  5. We will withdraw the 0% promotional rate if you go over your credit limit or don't make your contractual minimum payment on time each month.
  6. At the end of the promotional period, your applicable standard balance transfer rate will apply to any remaining balance.
  7. If you have a Direct Debit set up to pay off your balance in full each month, please call us on *0333 220 2692 to amend your Direct Debit so that you can take full advantage of your balance transfer.
  8. If you repay your balance in full each month, please be aware that if you leave your balance transfer on your account, we will charge interest on purchases you make from the point that those purchases are added to your account balance. This means that no interest free period will apply to those purchases until your outstanding balance, including the balance transfer, is paid in full.
  9. The promotional rate and term will apply from account opening. The date your balance transfer promotional rate expires will be listed on your statement.
  10. You should continue making monthly repayments to your existing card provider until the transfer shows on your account with them.
  11. It normally takes three hours for a balance transfer to be completed, depending on the processing times and type of payment process employed by your bank. Outside of working days or after 3pm on working days, and on Bank Holidays and weekends, your balance transfer will be processed on the next working day.
  12. We reserve the right to withdraw this offer at any time.
